Bryan Rasmussen
As Artistic Director of the Whitefire Theatre in Los Angeles, Bryan has produced over 500 shows and over 50 world premieres. He recently directed "Billie! backstage with Lady Day", the hit solo show about Billie Holiday still running in L.A., as well as the solo musical "Down
the Rabbit Hole" running now off-Broadway. His other productions include the musical "Blood Brothers", "Is this anyway to start a Marriage?", "Mark Twain in the 21st Century", "Evolution of Soul 685", "Season of Change", "Winter Tales", and the 50th anniversary production of Harold Pinter's "The Dumb Waiter". He also has produced comic Judy Tenuda's show "Mountain Girl Musical" as well as the smash holiday comedy "Santasia" and "Friday Night Quickies" just to name a few...
Bryan is an award-winning actor as well having acted in over 50 plays where roles included Alan in "Equus", van Gogh in the solo show "Sincerely Yours, Vincent", and Dr. Stockmann in Ibsen's "An Enemy of the People". Film and TV credits include guest starring roles on "ER", "JAG", "X-Files", "Big Love", and the recurring role of Agent Miller on the hit series "24" as well as the new series "Southland" on TNT. Film credits include Sam Raimi's "Army of Darkness", 'Cop Dog", "Project Fear", and the cult zombie flick "Days of Darkness" as Slasher, and "Hunter's Blood" with Billy Bob Thornton.
Training includes a BA in Theatre from Cal State Long Beach as well as the American Conservatory Theatre in SF and was a company member at the Tony award winning South Coast Repertory. A Colorado native, having grown up in Colorado Springs and attended Wasson High School, Bryan is excited to return to Durango to direct at this legendary theatre. Bryan would like to dedicate this production to the memory of his brother Larry Rasmussen, a long time Durango native....
